Melyanna's thoughts and memories - My meeting with Elijah. Pt. 2

Soon after getting my items signed, I started queuing for the photo session. That one was the longest queue, with a lot of people waiting to pose with Lij.

There was a huge cheer when Elijah entered the room and sat on the big stool which has been placed before a blue background. Then the session began, with everyone getting near Elijah and having the photo taken in a few seconds. I was a bit disappointed because Lij was sitting on that stool with his hands on his knees  and the fans were standing beside him in a very detached and formal way. Way too formal and quick for me. 

When it was my turn, he greeted me with an hallo and a smile and I smiled him back. If his eyes were normally incredibly blue, under the spotlights they literally shone, in an almost blinding way.

I didn’t want to have my photo taken as it was for the other fans before me, so I politely asked him if I could have a hug and he didn’t deny it. So I had his arm around my waist, and put mine on his shoulder.

Oh my, what a sweet sensation! A sensation that only the click of camera could break. Then it was as if the photographer wasn’t sure the pic was correctly taken, and he told us to wait. Oh yes, I can wait forever like this! But at last we were signalled that all was OK, and I had to go. Just a few moments more, please .... 

And so I thanked Elijah, let my arm slip from his shoulder and down his back and rubbed it gently, in that affectionate way  I use to do with my friends when I meet them.

In that moment I knew it was over. I still was very excited, but that was the end of our meeting, of my very special day. I felt a bit sad and immediately wanted to re-live it again. But there were a lot of other things I wanted to do at the Con and I had to wait until early afternoon to collect my photo.

Since I’m a great fan of Lost I decided to meet Jorge Garcia. He is very friendly and talkative and I was very pleased to get the chance to meet him and get his autograph as well.

After I purchased a few Lord of the Rings related items at the stalls, several thoughts crossed my mind: I wanted to meet Lij again, I wanted to watch him and absorb every single detail, so I could keep them forever in my mind, I wanted to talk with him a little more and to take more pics.

So I went in the signing queue and prepared to meet him again. At the end, I was satisfied. 

The only thing that I really regret is that I wasn’t able to be at his talk, since I was on my plane back to Rome. But I was happy nonetheless, and I’ll never forget that very special Saturday.
